JOB SUMMARY:

As a Database Developer, your role is to design, develop, and implement complex database systems, tools, and applications. You must have a thorough understanding of relational databases. You are the Microsoft SQL Server expert whose responsibilities might include supporting and securing critical information systems and providing reliable data that can be used in business-specific software-solutions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Define system requirements by consulting data administrators and system users about the types of information needed

Determine how data should be organized, who should have access to different data and how it should be displayed

Design and develop data models and database architecture (code writing)

Construct, install and test the database system

Write manuals or explain database's function

Consult with others to assess the system performance and make modifications as required

Modify existing databases, as user needs change

Tune and optimize database performance

Prepare reports on databases

Customize databases for specific needs

Train users and provide technical support

Experience/Education:

Advanced degree from a College or University

Minimum 5 years experience without degree

Proven demonstration of expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Advanced computer skills

Strong knowledge of SQL Server, its system tables and positioning.

Experience in SSIS, BIDS, TSQL, SSRS

Database administrator experience a plus
