The GUI Software Engineer will work with R&D developers and artist user groups to design and develop UI and workflows for Windows biometric-based applications, and will be involved in all aspects of the software design cycle, including definition of requirements, architecture design, construction, verification and QA. He/she will gather UI requirements and create prototypes and mock-ups to help stakeholders visualize the end-product and understand system workflow/layout. Will work closely with other members of the development team to ensure smooth integration with back-end technologies, will assist/direct the creative aspects of UI component development; and ensure interfaces can be extended and updated. Unit test all UI components and work closely with QA on testing, propose and estimate UI projects for new implementation, optimizations and refactoring, and provide strong inputs and innovation to the product roadmaps in close collaboration with the project lead and product marketing teams. Requirements: * 4+ years in a software development role. Including substantial experience building effective UI components, conducting usability studies, and incorporating feedback at the interface and process level. * BS or MS in a computing or graphics related field. * Strong background in object-oriented and GUI layout design, with a portfolio of GUI layout designs * Extensive C#/C++ programming experience on Windows-based systems. * Microsoft Win32 API, MFC, ATL, WTL, COM and Active X Controls, WPF * Multithreaded application development * Demonstrated ability to deliver new/creative products * Excellent customer and communication skills * Silverlight or Flash a big plus!!
