OBJECTIVE

The Software Engineer role is to create software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. Experience in developing in .NET C# and Team Foundation Server 2010.  They have a high level understanding of database systems & technology, ability to write SQL statements, and handle minimal database administration.  Software Engineer has in-depth knowledge of advanced software concepts, practices, and procedures within the software engineering field, and relies on experience & judgment to plan & accomplish goals while helping their team members to do the same. Performs a variety of tasks as directed and works under general supervision. A high degree of creativity & latitude required and should be able to assist other team members.  This position requires a willingness to learn new technologies rapidly and become proficient at implementing them in an enterprise environment.  This person will also have excellent written & verbal communication skills and a demonstrated professional demeanor setting an example for their team. 

  RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Create and maintain software applications and documentation as directed by Amovius Management

    • Communicate project, task, and issue status in a timely and complete manner

    • Create, document, and process use cases from technical requirements

    • Ability to participate and assist leading the team in group code reviews

    • Ability to work & assist lead in an Agile environment

    • Ability to work & assist instruction in multiple programming languages.

    • Other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

    • Microsoft Development Certifications  

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

Requires mobility. Air and car travel, and time away from home may be required.   Requires prolonged sitting and standing.   Requires ability to communicate by telephone, keyed or printed/written English.  Requires the ability to operate office equipment, such as computer, software, copier, pager, cell phone.   Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers or symbols.  Regular, predictable attendance required.  Requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Desired Skills & Experience

EDUCATION

4 year college degree required and graduate degree desired.

 EXPERIENCE

Experiences should cover some of the following areas with some knowledge / exposure to the other areas:

    • 3+ years of professional level experience in corporate software engineering, development, and/or IT department

    • Microsoft .NET Framework focused on C#

    • Team Foundation Server (TFS 2010) Development / Administation

    • Source Code Management products / packages

    • Database Systems – (MS SQL)

    • Microsoft WCF  

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

Highly desirable to have one or more:

    • Microsoft Development Certifications

    • Java Development Certifications

    • Oracle Certifications
